How To Measure

To get your measurements, you’ll need some tailor’s measuring tape and a helper, because this will be a lot easier with an extra pair of hands.

  • Bust

To measure your chest, wrap the tape beneath your armpits, fully encircling your body around your shoulder plates and the fullest part of your bust. For best results, she should wear a non-padded bra and relax your arms at your sides. Make sure not to cinch the tape so tight that it compresses the bust.

  • Waist

Your natural waistline is typically the narrowest part of your torso, an inch or two above your belly button. To measure the waist, encircle it with the tailor's tape and measure the entire circumference.

  • Hip

The hip should be measured around the widest part of the hip and buttock, about eight inches below the waist. This is another circumferential measurement, which means you’ll want to encircle the body with the tape.

  • Across Shoulder

The official way to measure your across shoulder length is to measure joint-to-joint from shoulder tip to shoulder tip.

  • Pant Length

With the pants lying flat, simply measure from the top of the waistband down to the bottom of the cuff or hem. This will give you the overall length of the pants
